RIVINO
RIVINO is located on a 250-acre ranch that has been in the Jahnke family since 1993, when the majority of the property was planted with pears. Gordon Janhke began growing grapes here in the 1990s. His daughter, Suzanne Janke, worked with him in the vineyard in those early years with her toddler son at her side. RIVINO was launched in 2008 and the vineyard now produces seven different grape varietals: Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Viognier, Pinot Blanc, Syrah, and Sangiovese.
RIVINO is a boutique winery. From the day harvest begins to when bottling is complete, we handle the grapes and juice in the most minimal and gentle manner possible. Before harvest, we explore the vineyard to find the sections that have a truly special character, then give daily focus to those grapes. This close attention allows us to harvest grapes at the exact right moment. We pick at daybreak, and the grapes’ journey is short (sometimes just a few hundred feet) to our winery. Then the great transformation begins!
